(McLean, VA) March 12, 2018 – With childhood obesity still on the rise, Fitness4EveryBody, LLC (Fit4EB) will offer nutrition education to the Young Men’s Service League’s Ashburn chapter (YMSL-Ashburn) at their meeting on March 18, 2018 in Leesburg.
According to research recently published in the journal Pediatrics, obesity rates continue to rise for American youth. By some estimates, one-third or more of children are overweight or obese, and that number has been on an upward trend since 1999. At YMSL-Ashburn’s next chapter meeting on March 18, Fit4EB’s owner and president, Pilar Lorca, will be the guest speaker. She will present on a variety of topics related to nutrition and health to the teens and their mothers.
“We know that obesity and poor nutrition are one of the leading causes of chronic health conditions in adults and children. Educating kids and their parents about good eating habits is an essential part of our mission and our outreach at Fitness4EveryBody,” says Lorca. Participants can expect to learn about selecting and preparing healthy lunches and after school snacks, as well as sports nutrition concepts for teen athletes.
As part of the corporate vision, Fit4EB strives to connect with community organizations and corporations to promote health and wellness. “Our mission is to share our passion, commitment, education, and knowledge with everyone we meet,” says Lorca. The company offers guest speakers on a wide array of health topics for all types of clubs, groups, and companies.
The Young Men’s Service League is a non-profit organization that initiates and encourages young men and their mothers to pursue philanthropic involvement in their community and provides an opportunity to enhance mother/son relationships.
