December 2019 — Cranberry Chutney

This might be the easiest side you make for your holiday table! Why buy canned, sugar-laden cranberry sauce (or that bizarre can-shaped jelly!) when you can have fresh cranberries that are as beautiful as they are tasty? Try this quick recipe for yourself!

  • 1 bag (12 oz) fresh cranberries, rinsed and drained
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 apples (such as honeycrisp, fuji, or granny smith) peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1 orange, peeled and sectioned
  • stevia (we prefer liquid) to taste

  1. Place cranberries in a nonstick saucepan and add 1/2 cup of water. Add honey, chopped apples, and the pulp from inside each orange section, discarding the casing.
  2. Cook over medium-high heat until all the cranberries have “popped,” stirring frequently.
  3. Remove from heat and add stevia to desired sweetness.
  4. Transfer to bowl or serving dish and chill before serving.
